Donald sat in the classroom day after day staring into space.
His teachers worried, as he never appeared engaged in anything that was happening in the classroom.
His parents were also concerned and had Donald to a variety of Doctors seeking help for their disaffected son.
One day a man came to the school and introduced Donald to computers.
Donald saw this as his way into the world and within a few years he had not only mastered computers and designed his own website, his web design business was thriving such that by fifteen he was wealthy enough to retire from society, develop his ideas and make even more money.

As a teacher I love your story! If only we could find ways to engage all of our pupils.
Thanks Gabriella wouldn’t it be wonderful to do so. Sadly because we are human we can’t get to every kid and for a multitude of reasons as you know there are kids for whom learning will never happen. Though it is great when you see a kid turn around and find something they love. Thanks for your comment.
Never judge a book…. sure his name isn’t Bill not Donald? 😉
All fiction RM. how’s the holiday?
Hmm guessed that to be the case. One more day then leave Monday 😦 It has been busy but WONDERFUL thank you for asking summer.
Once you find that one thing you engage with, there are no limits. Beautifully told!

Yes I agree learning is about engagement. Thank you for your comment.
All it takes is finding your vocation. Until that time you can feel adrift and unplugged from the world.
So true Joe, thanks for the comment.
